The building has a large newly renovated upstairs room which is often rented for weddings, wedding receptions, meetings, dinners, dances, etc. This reception room is smoke-free. There is also a small meeting room downstairs that can be rented. The bar area has a beautiful oak bar and cocktail lounge. There is a bowling alley, a large ball field, a picnic area and pavilion that are also available for private parties. The post donates the use of the ball fields for local youth baseball, softball, soccer and football activiites throughout the year. The legion sponsors American Legion baseball, Babe Ruth and Little League teams. The picnic area includes a pond where an annual children’s fishing derby is held. The group and it’s ladies Auxiliary sponsor local youth to attend Boy’s State and Girl’s State programs. Grounds are also used by the Dalton Fire Dept. for training and annual firemen’s musters.
Hanging in front of the legion is a painting of the town’s favortie son, Jeff Reardon. Jeff is a former Red Sox pitcher who is now retired.
On all national holiday’s the Legion displays flags honoring deceased members and others.
